E- Barrier by Sherwin-Williams

ebarrierjpeg.jpg

Developed by Sherwin-Williams, E-Barrier™ Reflective Coating helps reduce utility bills for homes and commercial buildings.

When applied to uncoated attic roof decking or to previously painted commercial decking, the microscopic metal particles in E-Barrier Reflective Coating help maximize energy efficiency. (Energy savings will vary depending on building materials, home location and conditions.)

  • In summer, e-Barrier reflects radiant energy from the sun
  • In winter, E-Barrier prevents radiant energy from leaving the building
  • Reduces heating and cooling costs by as much as 15 percent (independent testing laboratory certified)
  • Low emissivity (e-rating)
  • Breathable coating, won't trap moisture
  • Fast, one-coat coverage with minimal overspray

LO / MIT by SOLEC

  •  Because of their low emissivity and high reflectivity, the LO/MIT insulating paint products are excellent replacements for foil or metallized plastic film radiant barriers. LO/MIT-I is normally used for new construction since it is solvent based and not suitable for use in finished structures that are fully enclosed and not well ventilated. In many cases, LO/MIT-II is the only economical way to retrofit a radiant barrier since it may be safely applied in enclosed areas at a low cost. LO/MIT products are classified by ASTM as Interior Radiation Control Coating Systems (IRCCS) and offer the following unique features:
    • Low applied cost
    • Low emissivity, high reflectivity
    • Permeable, does not trap moisture
    • Easily installed using standard airless or air atomization spray equipment or rollers
    • One operator can easily install 1000 ft.²/hour
    • Excellent investment, normally saves 8-12% of AC costs, improves comfort levels
    • Improves efficiency of existing insulation
    • Only economical way to retrofit radiant barrier (LO/MIT-II) to existing structures
    • May be easily applied to side walls and loading dock doors in metal buildings and barns
    • Unaffected by rodents, birds and insects
    • Increases interior lighting levels due to high reflectivity, lowers lighting costs
    • Excellent infrared reflective surface for buildings heated by infrared heaters
